Circus update, Bday party, Dentist Visit

Wow, how time flies when you're having fun. lol. I just realized that I never updated since our zoo trip. It was a blast! All 3 kids loved it and the girls even took a ride on the elephant. Lincoln was just too little and we didn't want him to fall off. There were trapeze people, guys who climbed poles, guys who jumped through rings and ladies who balanced all sorts of glasses on their feet, hands, head and mouth. There were lots more, but believe it or not, I can't remember!

The girls had their dance pictures last Wednesday and all went fine.

Lincoln's bday party was last Saturday and that was fun. Mom & dad, Gma & Gpa K, Gpa H, Jim and Marlys and Rick, Pam and Conner were there for a few hours and then had to leave before supper and Paula's family wasn't there at all. Lincoln was so excited about all of his presents. He was just too cute.

Monday was Mercedes' first dentist appt and we knew she had a cavity. Well, due to the Tiny VSS she has (hole in her heart), she couldn't have any dental work done because I hadn't given her the RX. When we went to Children's Hosp, the doc told us to give her 4 pills one hour prior to the dentist appt, but we thought that was just if she was put out. I showed the dentist the card and he said he couldn't anything until she had her RX. So, we got that filled and had to reschedule. He was able to look at her teeth and give her a check up and he was able to put a temporary filling in so her teeth wouldn't hurt. Her next dentist appt is in a few weeks to fill the cavity and then a week later she has her teeth cleaned. The deal with her heart is if foreign bacteria get into her blood stream, she can get extremely sick and she needs meds to ward off the bad bacteria. (In a nutshell) So, I will keep you posted after the dentist appt.

Peace.

Going to the circus this afternoon!!!!

Let me first start out by saying Lincoln's b-day was great. He literally screamed at every present he opened and he ran in circles and started doing little jigs. It was absolutely hilarious! He would point with both fingers and then move his arms to the air and start singing, too. He so appreciated everything! He was just dumbfounded when he saw the big John Deere tractor coming through the doorway. He was all over that thing and kept saying, "mommy, my tractor. My tractor, E-ceces (Mercedes). My tractor, Ra-ra (Sierra)." It was absolutely adorable.

Mercedes is always very huggy to us all and at the dinner table, she'll get up while we're eating and walk around the table and give us all hugs and say, "I love you so much." She's been doing this for several months and, well, Lincoln has caught on to it. When he's eating he said, "uv ooo, Ra-ra". He keeps saying it over and over until you acknowledge him by saying it back. Then he gets all excited and claps his hands and moves on to the next person. Then it's, "uv ooo, E-ceces" and then it goes to Jon and then to me. It's just funny. Then he has started to just come up to us and give us hugs, too. He sees the girls doing that and it's just cute. He hugged Phoebe (one of our dogs) the other day and he said, "uv ooo, puppy" and then laid his head on her and petted her back. I just said, "ooooh, Lincoln."

******

So, today is circus day. I'm taking off at 2:15pm today and we're all 5 going. I'm so excited!!! The girls are so anxious to go. I'll write more after this weekend.

Sunday is Easter and we'll be going to my Aunt's this year instead of having it at our house. I kindof wish we could still be home. It's not any driving or rushing here, there, everywhere. We can take our time and enjoy the day. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but I just hate driving places and then have to work the next day, too. Ugh. I'll try to write early next week.

Peace.

Today is Lincoln's 2nd birthday!!!!!

Today is so exciting because it's Lincoln's birthday and he's 2 years old. What a little pumpkin! All of us were so excited going into his room today and waking him up by yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LINCOLN!!! I'm sure he didn't know what it meant, but he sure got excited! lol. He's all dressed up today in khaki's and a red kind of plaid button down short sleeved Children's Place shirt. When he was dressed, he ran into the girls' room and yelled HIIIII GIRRRRLS!! lol.
I bought sugar cookies with blue frosting to daycare today and he seemed excited for those, too. We bought him a tractor with a trailer as he loves to hook stuff on, a truck that plays really, loud music, and another vehicle with loud music and are you ready. . . A JOHN DEERE PEDAL TRACTOR!!! Each of the girls received a pedal tractor on their 2 year b-day, but theirs was red. Jon had found a loader a few years ago and it only fit the John Deere, so that's what we bought. I'm soooo excited to give it to him. He'll love it!!!

Dad is working and mom is watching Conner due to Rick and Pam being in Jamaica. Tonight around 6pm, mom and Conner and Jim and Marlys will come over for cake and ice cream and watch Lincoln open his presents. I'm sooo excited!!!

Peace.

Dance contest was a success!!!

This past weekend we had dance contest for both girls. Mom and I took them and Jon stayed home with Lincoln. It was held at the Wayzata Central Middle School. Believe it or not, I drove right to it and it only took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get there.

The girls looked beautiful. Mercedes had to be there by 10am and danced at 11am and Sierra had to be to her spot by 1:45pm and danced at 2:45pm. Mercedes' hair had to be in curlers and we took those out at contest. The night before she was crying that she didn't want curlers or makeup and I told her she absolutely had to and didn't have a choice. I think she was overly tired because Saturday morning she was just fine with it. She looked just precious. She looked petrified when I dropped her off at the KMC Dance Studio dressing room. I gave her a hug and she was with all of her friends at this time, so she was ok, but she still looked really scared. Cam is her best friend and is in dance as well and so she was a little more at ease with her there, but I just felt so bad. We watched some dances prior to bringing them back and she just stared and had this scared, petrified look in her eyes. The competition is held in the gym and it was absolutely packed. I thought for sure that one of the girls wouldn't end up going out there. (Her group has 7 girls in it.) Sierra's attitude has always been, "Wow, I'm beautiful and everyone will be staring at me, me, me!" She loves being in the spotlight. The more people to watch, the better she feels. Mercedes' attitude is, "I'm here to do my job. Get out of my way, let me do it, and get me off the dance floor." Poor girl. Anyway, we saw the girls all lined up along the sidelines and when their music started, they all slid into their dance homes and I was never so proud of Mercedes as I was at that point. I knew how scared she was and yet she went out and danced! I just cried and the tears kept falling and I was trying to take pictures, too! lol. She did her dance just perfect. Believe it or not, she's the one that the girls all look to and they follow her. If she was to do the wrong dance move, the entire group would do it wrong. Literally, for some reason, she gets it perfect and so she pulled all of them through. I was so proud of her! When they slid into their homes, the entire crowd said, "oooooohhhhh" and the crowd clapped numerous times during their dance for them. It was absolutely adorable. They wore these pink frilly costumes with glitter and stuff and a big rhinestone buckle in the front. Mercedes held her head high during her toe stamps and she even remembered to do that! Oh, I'm tearing up again. Wow. The crowd roared when they were done. It was great! After they were done, they had to wait for their award and they all sat like little angels on the carpet. Wow, what an awesome kid! We had a little bit of time before Sierra's first ballet dance (Mercedes' was tap) and she was the best ever! I was soooo extremely proud of her!! She smiled the entire time she was out there, didn't get lost in her dance and she found me in the crowd!! Her moves were just elequent and perfect and she just flowed into each step. It was absolutely beautiful. Her costume was red and to the music of "That's Amore". (Mercedes' song was "It's my party (and I'll cry if I want to.)) Sierra's costume is a red velvet leotard with black sequins and a red tu-tu. Sierra's hair was in a low ponytail with her hair parted on the left and a big red rose on the right side. She looked gorgeous. She looks waaay older than 7! Both girls got a silver award (based upon points) and they have a ribbon. On Sunday it was just Sierra to dance and Mercedes didn't go with because she was up the whole night Saturday night coughing. She wanted to go with soooo badly! Thank goodness she wasn't coughing during her dance. Thank you, Jesus! Sierra did her "Pool Party" dance and she had on this flowered blue costume with her midriff showing and lots of ruffles. It looks similar to a 2 piece swimsuit. She looked awesome! The kids love this dance and it sooo showed. The crowd clapped and cheered numerous times during this dance, too, because they were so good. I was just in awe. Sierra looked so old out there and she did each of the moves perfectly. All of the kids were in sync with eachother and looked like they were having a blast. They received a silver award for this song as well. They were AWESOME! I couldn't help it, but I bought each of them a trophy. I was soooo proud of each of them and so I gave it to them when we got home on Sunday. All Mercedes kept saying was, "Mom, it's my very first trophy!" She was so proud of it!!! It actually worked out well because they put their ribbons on it and both of them look very nice on their wall.

Did I tell you how PROUD I AM OF MY GIRLS? Woooo hooooooo!!!!!!! THEY DID AWESOME!!!!!!

Peace.

Is Lincoln spoiled? :0)

I'm so excited that I know Lincoln isn't color blind. (Well, a person never knows for sure!) Yesterday it was absolutely gorgeous outside and the wind never hit the yard so we were outside a long time. I gave each of the kids a new bottle of bubbles and each was a different color. We were on the swing set (the only place on the yard with grass!) and only Mercedes' bubbles were on the swing. Lincoln pulled my arm and pointed to the bubbles and said, "mom, where my go?" It was just adorable because he knew Mercedes' was green and they weren't his. Oooooh - I know, too cute! lol. It's just amazing how different a year is between age 1 and 2. Lincoln went up and down the steps to the play house like nothing! However, one of the girls' were always right there in case he fell. :0) Jon said last night, "Becky, I think Lincoln is spoiled." I laughed and said, "why do you think that?" He said, "Because the girls are constantly with him making sure he has everything he wants." Yep, that's for sure. He barely grunts and points and the girls are getting stuff for him. All he does is points upstairs and says, "E-ceces, ki-ki upstairs!" Translation: Mercedes, blanket upstairs! Mercedes hears that and says, "oooh, Lincoln do you want your blanket?" Lincoln says, "YES!" with a big smile on his face and she kisses his cheek and says, "Ok, you stay here and I'll go get it." I'm telling you, this is what it's like. Then we wonder why he throws a complete fit when he doesn't get what he wants. lol. He'll learn soon enough that the world doesn't revolve around him. I swear he's Sierra in a boy body. Get this - he's even fashion conscious! I know - don't tell Jon. This is not a good thing. If he doesn't like what clothes I pick out, he will refuse to wear them. No kidding. Today I had a shirt picked out and he was ok with that, but I had picked out a pair of regular jeans and he cried and shook his head and said, "no, no pants" and threw them down. I said, "What do you want?" He pointed to his camoflage pants and said, "THESE pants!" I took them out and said, "These?" and he said, "YES!" I've never known a boy to be picky about his clothes at age 2. How is it that Mercedes never did that, but Sierra and Lincoln did?

Peace
