LOCKS OF LOVE

Oh, I forgot to type up that Sierra has donated her hair once again to Locks of Love. This is the second time already in her 8 years! I'm so proud of her!

Mercedes is getting her hair cut on Wednesday, so we'll see how much she wants to get cut off.

Peace.

Award day for Sierra. . .

I'M SO PROUD OF HER!!!! Kris (daycare - yes we switched back to Kris Herd on 03 05 07) was closed this entire week because Zach is graduating. This week, I have been bringing Sierra home each day for the last hour until we get home. Anyway, today was her last day of school and it was awards day for the elementary.

First, let me back up a year. Last year she came home from Award day and she got the ACADEMIC ALL STAR award! This meant that she has demonstrated great leadership ability, was outstanding in her grades, etc. We went to the Mall of America for this last year and she even has a T-shirt to prove it. :0) There was a ceremony and it was awesome! She was hoping she would get it again this year, but I told her that I'm sure they want to give more kids the chance to go, so they would probably pick someone else. They gave one of her good friends the award this year, so she was still so excited! Pahnia Vue was the winner of this.

Anyway, I just returned from picking her up and she said, "Mom, it was so hard leaving Mrs Vos today." She said she gave her "like 5 HUGS!" throughout the day. She said she really is going to miss her. She even brought flowers today for Mrs Vos and she said she was thrilled! Mrs Vos is absolutely beautiful by the way. Sierra always told me what she had on and how she had her hair. lol. Anyway, she was chattering away about her day and what they did and was telling me how heavy her backpack was and we were about 1/2 way home and she said, "OMG! I WON 2 AWARDS, MOM!!!!!" I was thinking about how awards day went, but didn't want to bring it up to her. So, she said she won an award for her art and from Mrs Vos. She was the VINCENT VAN GOGH AWARD for her art!! She also received a Sibley East T-shirt! OMG!!! The award looks so professional and it's on a certificate for her wall and everything! We are soooo going to frame it! So, Mrs Feterl gave her the award and the Tshirt and the next award was from Mrs Vos for being A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL!!! (I'm all teary eyed as I type this!) I'm just sooooooo proud of my little girl!! I hugged her so tight at home she said her sides hurt! lol. I didn't want to leave to come back to work after all of that great news! I'M SO PROUD OF HER!! I think we'll frame Mrs Vos' award, too. I think we'll all go out for ice cream tonight to celebrate. WOW!!!!

Peace.

The kids are growing up. . .

Each day as I talk with Sierra about what she's done and what the new things are that she has learned is simply amazing to me. I gave her this book on how her body will be changing and it's crazy to think that she's old enough to understand! She's just so grown up now and is so mature compared to her friends. I know all parents say their kids are the smartest ones and most adorable, but I truly believe my kids are the smartest and most adorable. :0) Sierra has literally gotten straight A or A+ grades since Kindergarten! Her teachers write in the comment sections how she truly excels in everything she does. Her strongest areas are math and reading. She reads so much and sometimes I have to get mad and tell her she has no choice but to put the book away. lol. I remember I was just like her!!

Mercedes is so smart, too, and the teachers have commented that she's certainly following in her sister's footsteps. She makes the most amazing pictures and colors each one with such perfection and uses soooo many different colors on each picture! She has had numerous compliments on her coloring and therefore even won the coloring contest at the grocery store! She was ecstatic!! I was so proud of her. My little peanut.

Lincoln is just as adorable as the girls are. He loves being with Jon and now wants Jon to tuck him into bed each night. It's so funny because each morning he says, "mommy, know who tuck me in tonight?" He then proceeds to say, "Eenie, meeeenie, Moe" and then waves his pointed finger back and forth between me and Jon and always lands on Jon. lol. What a little stitch. He looks at me and says, "Nope, mommy, not gonna tuck me in. Daddy is!!" He asks me each day where Jon is working, why he's there and exactly what he's doing. He is definitely the most inquisitive of the 3 kids.

I'm so proud of my kids!!!

Peace.

You're my favorite mommy. . .

I just had to write about Mercedes. The last few weeks she has helped me so much and each morning she asks, "Mommy, is there anything I can get for you? Mommy, what shoes would you like me to get out this morning?" She has been such a doll. Each night for the last few nights, she says, "Mommy, you the best mommy in the whole world!" She then adds, "You're my favorite!" What a doll. As I'm leaving Sierra's room (after praying, saying goodnight and talking about our day), Mercedes always says, "Mommy! Big hug!!!" and she puts her arms around herself and says, "OOOhhhh" and I do the same. She is too cute.

Peace.

Dance recital was FABULOUS!!!

Gosh, I'm so bad at updating! ugh! The girls did 2 songs each and they did super, awesome, fabulous! I was so proud of them and I got teary eyed at the afternoon recital and the night one. Man. I guess that's a mother's perogative if she wants to cry or not. The girls really did awesome and I couldn't have been more proud of them. It was great. Lincoln went with at night and he thought it was great, too. He yelled out, "There's 'Cedes!! HI 'CEDES!" He did the same thing when he saw Sierra. It was too cute. Sierra looked so proud getting her 5 yr trophy. I can't believe it's been 5 yrs already! GULP! This was Mercedes' 2nd year and I can't believe where the time went with her either.

I'm one PROUD mother of 2 little girls and 1 little boy. :0)

Peace.

The dance recital is Saturday!!

The end of the year dance recital is Saturday. This will be Sierra's 5th year so she gets a trophy! She's very excited about this. Mercedes has been in dance for 2 years now and she just told me she wants to be in dance again next year. Both of the girls continue to do really well and I'm so proud of both of them. Lincoln attends dance class each week as well and actually loves to dance, too. However, Jon keeps mentioning to me that he will not be in dance class. I tend to agree. :-)

Mercedes will have 2 songs this year and so will Sierra. I told Jon that we are really getting our money's worth with the girls in 4 songs! We paid the same money Sierra's first year and she was only in one song. lol. Always trying to get a bang for our buck. Kevin and Benita, Kris, mom and dad, Jon, Lincoln and I will all be there at night to see Sierra get her trophy. Jim and Marlys will be coming to the afternoon recital. I will also be there in the afternoon. I'm just so proud of the girls and I think Lincoln will have a ball seeing them all dressed up and dancing away. Mercedes is in the front and center for both of her dances and Sierra is in the middle row, center for each of her dances. They will do AWESOME!!!

Peace.

Sierra and her 8 pull ups in phy ed!!

We were outside yesterday after getting home from Kris' and the girls always climb on the ends of the playset and sit up on top. Ugh. Sierra is just like a freakin' monkey. She can hang and pull herself up like no one else. She is incredibly strong!! I told her that comes from carrying Mercedes and Lincoln everywhere!

Anyway, she was "hanging out" and she suddenly got excited and said, "Mom! Guess what?!" She then proceeded to tell me that they have tests in phy ed to see how they have improved from the beginning if the year to the end of the year. She said in the beginning she couldn't even do one pull up and now she did 8!!! She said that was the most out of her entire class! She even did more than the boys! She said the more she did, the more everyone kept cheering her on and yelling out the numbers as she pulled herself up. SHE WAS SO EXCITED!!! I told her that I was so proud of her!!! She said there was one other test where they had to hang and see how long they could do that and she got second in the class and she was about 5 seconds behind the first place person. I'm so proud of her!

Peace.

Lincoln pee'd outside!!

About 2 wks ago, Lincoln asked if he could pee outside and I told him he could try. Well, it didn't work so he pee'd in the house. We played outside yesterday after we got home from Kris' and as soon as Jon got home, Lincoln asked him if he could pee outside. Jon said yes and that he would go with him. It was hilarious. They went over by the grainery and at first Jon just tried to pull down the front area of his pants, but Lincoln wouldn't go. Then he tried pulling down his pants and underwear the entire way, but Lincoln still wouldn't go. Jon then had the idea of Lincoln standing about a foot away from the grainery and then lean over and put his hands on the grainery and then he was able to go. HE WAS SOOOOO EXCITED!! He starts screaming, "I pee'd! I pee'd!" lol. I suppose now it will be a big deal for him to pee outside. We told him that he could only pee outside at our house as long as no one else was around. lol. Just another first at the Suedbeck household.

Peace.

Mercedes won a coloring contest!!!

Every spring, the local grocery store has a coloring contest and the winner gets 2 movie rentals. It was the middle of April when the girls submitted their pictures and we heard back last week that Mercedes won!! SHE WAS ECSTATIC!! I was so proud of her!! We even got the picture back so I told her we would frame it. :0)

It was a picture of 2 birds on a branch. She colored the birds blue, beaks yellow, feet orange, branch brown and the sky was multi-colored. It was AWESOME!!

Peace.
