You stuck WHAT up your nose?!?

Well, well, well. Mercedes had a birthday on October 10th. She had her first "kid party" on Friday, October 13th. She had Kaylee Divine, Libby, Mollee, Kielee, Hannah, Camryn and Victoria. Dora was the theme of the party and Mercedes loved it. Lincoln fit right in and Sierra definitely took charge and I love her for that! Jon didn't get home that night until 10:30pm, so Sierra and I had to do it by ourselves. We had pizza and cheetos and then halloween cupcakes for dessert. The cupcakes had halloween rings on them, so the girls loved it. All of them were well behaved. Mom was able to come over later to stay with the other kids while I took a load of kids home. When I got home after bringing the last kids home, I was talking with mom and Sierra came down and had a horrified look on her face and said, "A My Scene earring is missing and Mercedes can't find it." I said, "so what" and Sierra said, "Mom - she's looking in her nose and her mouth and she's crying because she can't find it." OMG! SHE'S 5 YRS OLD! Sierra said Mercedes was by herself and when Sierra found her, she had one finger in her nose and her other hand was in her mouth. Ugh. When I saw her, she had one finger in her nose and she was saying, "I can't find, I can't find it!" I pulled her finger out of her nose and it was like I turned the water on. Blood rushed out of her nose and with the blood came the earring. OMG! Once I saw the earring and knew everything was ok, I started yelling, "WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING?!" The bleeding stopped relatively quickly and she was fine, but needless to say, I think she got the point that she is not to put anything in any holes that she has. lol. I told her she is not to stick anything up her nose or in her ear if it's smaller than her elbow. She didn't get it, so I explained it to her. Ugh. Thank God Lincoln didn't see it or he would get all sorts of ideas about what to put up his nose.

Peace.

Mercedes and the fireman - 2005

Mercedes was in Discovery (preschool) last year and the firemen visited the kids. The guys that came to her classroom she knew, so I thought it was going to be just fine. Uh, I was wrong. I got a phone call after they left. They guys walked in and brought their suits with so the kids could see them without their suit and then with it on. They didn't want them to be scared. As soon as they put it on, Mercedes started shaking and crying saying she was scared. Her best friend, Kaylee Eccles was with her and started crying because Mercedes was. Finally, the teacher had to take them out of the room. Then, while the firemen were there, there was a practice firedrill. They went outside and Mercedes then thought for some reason that Sierra died in the fire. Her thought was, ok, there's a fire and the firemen are here. I don't see my sister, so she must have died in the fire. The teacher said they tried consoling Mercedes and telling her that Sierra was ok. Mercedes wouldn't quit crying until they found Sierra. The teachers were finally able to track down where Sierra was so Mercedes could see she was ok. All of the teachers said they have never seen 2 sisters hug like that. They said Mercedes didn't want to let go and Sierra just kept telling her that everything would be ok and that she was fine and she wasn't hurt. Sierra had to tell her it was ok to go back to class and that there wasn't a fire in school and they were just practicing on what to do if there ever was a fire. Finally, Mercedes agreed she would go back to class. The teachers said they could see how much they loved eachother!!

I just remembered that this month the firemen will be going to the classrooms again, so I better tell Mercedes that it's ok.

Peace.

Lincoln pee'd on the potty chair!!!!

Lincoln wakes up dry almost every morning and has been doing this for a long time. I've tried putting him on the toilet or potty chair and he just screams. So, it's a bit frusterating in the mornings knowing he's holding it, refuses to pee on the potty, and then goes pee in the diaper right before we're ready to leave. ugh! So, I always bring a diaper and wipe downstairs with me knowing I have to make sure there's time to change him. He ends up peeing while he eats breakfast. So, for giggles, I asked him yesterday morning if he wanted to go potty on the potty chair and he nods his head and says, "yeah, sure". lol, that's his answer to everything - yeah, sure. It's too cute how he says that. So, he then tries taking off his diaper and so I knew he meant business. He walks in the bathroom and girls were in there and he said, "C-ra, Cedes, I go on potty chair!" He proceeded to sit down and I told Sierra, "At least he's not screaming. There's no way he'll go, but at least he's now to the point of trying." He got a weird look on his face and I told Sierra not to look at him and I saw him stand up and he said, "I WENT!" and he pointed to the potty. I looked and I screamed, "OH LINCOLN!! YOU DID IT!!" I gave him a huge hug and he started jumping up and down in excitement. Both girls gathered around and were hugging him and telling him that he now gets an M&M because he pee'd. He was just ecstatic. He asked to call Jon and I heard him say, "I go on potty chair, daddy!" Jon must have said something and he totally calmed down like he was Joe Cool and said, "Yeah, I did". What a kid. This morning he was dry again and he told me he wanted to go potty on the potty chair and he did it again! I was thrilled and he was more excited today than yesterday! I was so proud of him!

Peace.
