Mom, can I go to Prom?
I had Lincoln's 2 year pics taken on Saturday and the girls went with. Mom and dad met me in that town and we ate together and shopped at Herberger's. I hadn't really brought the girls into a real store other than Walmart because I get all of their clothes off Ebay and I don't bring them with me when I shop for myself. So, Sierra was just besides herself that she was "at the mall". lol. First thing you have to understand is that Sierra is all about glitz, glamour, sparkles and being the center focal point. She acts and looks much, much older than 7 and we have had numerous people tell us that. So, we walked into Herberger's and Sierra was soooo extremely excited. She said, "MOM! LOOK AT ALL THE PROM DRESSES!" She started talking in an accent and was touching the dresses and telling me which ones she liked the best, etc. There were high school girls with their friends or moms and they just smiled at Sierra and as we walked away I heard several different people say, "oh, isn't she cute? She's just adorable!" As we were walking through Herberger's, Sierra kept saying (in her accent), "Oh, Mother, this is just sooo me. I love all these beautiful clothes. We just must try them all on." She kept asking how old she has to be to go to prom. Poor little thing, she has sooo many years to go! We were at Payless 2 years ago and she found these real, ladies size 5 high heeled shoes. They are silver and I bet they have at least a 3" heel. That little nut has been able to clod around in high heels ever since she could walk. I have always bought these little princess shoes for her to wear and they've all had heels. Well, needless to say, Sierra can run in these pumps. No lie, she looks just like a little lady. Trust me, she is not allowed to wear these shoes outside of our house, so she doesn't wear them "out", but she runs all over our house with those shoes on. So, she is just so excited for prom. I told her maybe we'd go to watch the daycare daughter in her prom and then Sierra can at least see "all the pretty girls". You should just see us when there are awards on TV or Miss USA or something. All 3 of us girls are critque-ing the people on what they are wearing, how beautiful or ugly the hair is and what kind of shoes the people have on. It's just so much fun with the girls!
Sierra has been asking to get her ears pierced and Jon and I keep telling her she has to wait a few years. Sierra's big thing is going to Claire's. I've bought Claire's things off Ebay, but never brought Sierra to the store. Well, there was a Claire's in the mall on Saturday and Sierra was in Heaven! Mercedes loved looking at the Dora The Explorer stuff at Claire's and Sierra was all about the dangly earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc. She is definitely my high maintenance girl. Anyway, she found this magnetic, dangly earrings and just had to have them. Mom bought them for her and bought a Dora necklace for Mercedes. They both absolutely loved their stuff! Lincoln was sleeping in the stroller outside with my dad. Dad said I just had to buy him a cup of coffee and he'd be more than willing to sit out there. :0) Woo hoo! Honestly, it was so much fun going there with the girls. (Jon was working on Saturday and Sunday so he couldn't go with us.) Lincoln was so good the entire time, too. He just sat in the stroller and was a gem. They had some play things in the mall and so he actually did run around a bit there as dad watched and mom and I shopped in Herberger's with Sierra. Mercedes was also with dad and Lincoln in the play area.
That was our weekend.
Peace.
