The "Big Slumber Party" is tonight!!

Sierra and Mercedes are having their first slumber party (together) tonight. Yikes! There will be about a dozen kids sleeping overnight. The girls have had people sleep over before and have slept over at their friends houses, but never have we had this many kids over at once to sleep! lol. The girls are just besides themselves and are so extremely excited. Yesterday in school Sierra said she, Leighton and Jade made a list of things to do. lol. There were 12 things on that list! Last night the girls and I set up the tents in the Library. We just put on a rather large addition and the addition included a "library" (not quite sure what we'll use the room for yet) that is fairly large so I told the girls that everyone sleeps in the same room. Their bedroom isn't big enough for all of the kids and we only have a few chairs and Lincoln's chest in there, so the whole floor is available. Plus, there are French doors in the Library, so it will feel like a bedroom when they are sleeping. I'm hoping that we don't have any issues with kids wanting to go home in the middle of the night. Ugh. The kids that are coming should be fine. Did I mention that there are boys and girls coming? Sierra and Leighton have been best friends ever since they were 3 in Preschool Discovery class. (Leighton's parents and me and my husband all went to high school together.) So, they have become very, very close and have been staying overnight at eachother's houses for years. Now, Leighton's little brother, Hawken, and Mercedes have become friends and doing the sleepover things as well. Mercedes tells me that she is going to marry Hawken some day. :0) We never know what's going to happen in the future, but it's just so weird that Leighton and Sierra are such good friends and now Hawken and Mercedes are. Leighton and Hawken have a little brother, Brevon, but we broke the trend when we had a boy instead of another girl with Lincoln. Brevon and Lincoln are fairly close in age as well, so who knows, maybe they will end up being friends, too.

I get off work at 4:30pm, pick the kids up from daycare and then try to make it home by 4:45pm as the parents are dropping the kids off at 5pm tonight. I told the girls I'm just making pizza and then they can have snacks and stuff while they are upstairs. It's just so nice with the addition done that they can be upstairs and I don't even have to hear them when I'm downstairs. It will be even nicer when the girls rooms are done on 3rd floor. We transformed the attic into 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. Each girl has a dormir in their room and each girl's room is about the size of the room they currently share. Both girls have awesome views. We call it the dorm floor. :0) We also have put a phone system in our house such that we can call the different extensions since the house is so big and then we don't have to yell. There will be a common phone in the hallway on the girls' floor, but each girl will also have a phone in their bedroom. There are also TV hookups in each of their rooms, but there won't be any TV's hooked up. :0) Everyone who comes to see the house just loves it. I'm anxious for the girls to move up there. They are just too excited! They could pick out their own color for their rooms and Sierra picked Pink (of course) and Mercedes chose Green (of course). It's just such great rooms!! When they have sleepovers, they will definitely have room for everyone to sleep in their own rooms. Woo hoo!!

I wonder what Lincoln will do tonight with so many kids over. He will probably just want to play with everyone and feel part of the group. He's just too cute.

I'll let you know how the party went next week.

Peace.
